Affordable skincare for hydrated skin

Hey everyone, it feels like a while since I sat down to write! We finally got the go ahead to move into our new home on December 20th and were brave enough to host our first Christmas and Boxing Day with family. Needless to say, the past 10 days since I finished my 9-5 for the Christmas break have been non-stop, challenging and stressful. But, I am glad to be 90% unboxed and to have ticked half the tasks I wanted to do before the New Year off my to-do list (oh boy, do I love a to do list).

In addition to the stress that moving house has put on my body, Christmas is also an indulgent time where a lot of us (including myself) are guilty of a few too many late nights, festive food overload and drinking a lot more alcohol than usual. All of which take a toll on your body and your skin. With that in mind, BIODERMA very kindly got in touch with myself, prior to the festive period, to ask if I would like to try their innovative skincare range that helps to combat the side-effects from Christmas and New Years partying and late nights. With the house move it couldn’t have come at a better time either, as my whole body needs an bit extra TLC at the moment.

I have been adding these products into my daily skincare routine over the past month, to keep my skin staying fresh and healthy. I have to say, I have been surprised that not a blemish or skin breakout has happened to my face over the past month. Despite the stress I have put myself and my body under with constant tasks and five hours or less of sleep a night. TBH I haven’t had a break at all over Christmas as if I have not been doing one thing I have been doing another. I didn’t expect there to be so much to do moving house. So I am glad that I managed to have a few extra days off work over the Christmas break, to get this done, whilst over indulging in champagne and cheese and crackers: it would be rude not too!

Bioderma Sebium Micellaire review

BIODERMA expertly paired me up with the best products for my skin type – normal to oily – and the products I have been incorporating into my daily skincare routine (morning and night) can be found listed below:

BIODERMA Sébium H2O Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution

I don’t know about you, but I love a micelle water for pre-cleansing during my makeup routine. I like to use my BIODERMA Sébium H2O Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution with a cotton pad as the first step in my Christmas skincare routine. Delicate and fresh on the skin, the micelle solution easily removes all of my makeup, including mascara! This product gently cleanses the skin whilst the Sébium H2O cleanses the epidermis in depth to regulate secretion of sebum, which stops your skin from drying out.

BIODERMA Hydrabio Gel-Cream

After using my usual cleansing face wash to double cleanse and adding a light layer of facial serum, I have then been using the BIODERMA Hydrabio Gel-Cream to intensely hydrate my skin. This product is great for use during stressful periods due to the addition of vitamin E and salicylic acid, which help with radiance and to combat signs of ageing. Which I definitely look for in skincare products now that I am in my thirties! This gel-cream feels fresh and light when applied to my face, whilst providing a sensation of softness. I find that applying a cream after a serum acts as a barrier to lock in all of the goodness you had just applied to your skin.

BIODERMA Sensibio Eye Contour Gel

I focus on my eye area for the last part of my skincare routine. I only need to use a tiny bit of the BIODERMA Sensibio Eye Contour Gel, which I gently tap onto my eye contour using a light patting motion with one or two fingers. I find this gel to be soothing, hydrating and it helps to reduce the appearance of puffiness and fine lines.  When applying this eye gel in the morning I have also noticed less creasing of concealer around my eyes – and I have been doing a lot of smiling and laughing this Christmas!

BIODERMA LIght moisturising cream and eye cream

BIODERMA SEBIUM H20 MIcelaire water

So there we have my Christmas skincare routine and how I have been adding BIODERMA products into my morning and night bathroom ritual, over the festive period and into the New Year.
