My Love Story
I first met my now husband seven years ago. We we’re both working at a country club near my childhood home at the time.
I was fresh out of a five year relationship that started whilst I was living and studying at university in Edinburgh. After this ended I moved 240 miles back home and to be honest a new relationship was the last thing on my mind.
As they say “it started with a kiss” (on a drunken works night out), but I would also put it down to chance or fate if you will. If I had not moved back home, we would probably never have met. Growing up we lived just 20 minutes apart from each other and didn’t even know it.
Back then there were no dating apps readily available on your phone (that I knew of) or multiple ways to meet people online. But now there are many ways that you can meet new people in your area or close to your location with the help of technology and apps such as Badoo.

Once you’ve bagged yourself a date, what on earth will you wear?
One thing James says caught his attention was the way I used to dress for work. In fact, it was one dress in particular: a black fitted midi dress.
If you have a date coming up or you are trying to catch some one’s eye then clothes may be on your mind. For me, minimal looks win every time. Even if you have carefully selected pieces to wear together a minimal outfit never looks try hard. Minimal looks are effortless, cool, chic and they make the perfect date outfit.

5 Tips For Creating a Minimal Date Look
Reach for the basics
At the base of every minimal outfit you will find a good wardrobe basic/s. For your Badoo date pick out your favourite white shirt or a white t-shirt to build your outfit upon.
You can always count on denim
Denim jeans are the perfect option for your Badoo date. Whether you are going out for a meal and drinks, to the cinema or a more active date like bowling. Jeans don’t look try hard and will flatter your figure, giving you the chance to show off your bum in a nice tight pair of skinny jeans. Or, if like me boyfriend cuts and straight leg jeans are more your style, pair them with a heel or your favourite boots for a chic, ready to go date outfit.
Chic outerwear makes your date outfit
A midi coat is the perfect outerwear choice to wear on your date. They are elegant, smart and go with pretty much any look from smart to casual, skirts to trousers and dresses. To hit the autumn/winter trends on the head opt for a checked print or teddy bear/shearling coat.
Stylish sensible footwear
One thing that is important on a date is to make sure that you are comfortable. This is especially true when it comes to your choice of footwear. Think stylish and sensible like a comfortable pair of boots, as long as the heel isn’t too high for you to walk in without having a glass of wine!
Say it with accessories
When wearing a minimal outfit and keeping basics as your base, you might want to add a bit of personality and detail to your look with accessories. The best minimal statement accessory is a chunky gold earring. It is amazing how a piece of jewellery can update your look. If hats are more your thing, opt for one of these as well or instead. Just remember to keep in theme with minimal accessories too and nothing that is too loud and crazy.
