Why Taking A Spa Break Is Good For Your Soul

Charlotte Lewis Manchester UK Fashion Blog

“Taking a spa break in a moment of madness is good for your soul…”

WOW, what a full on year the past 11/12 months have been. Since the beginning of 2015 I have been planning my wedding abroad for next year, running a household, keeping on top of an amped up weekly fitness regime, being a doted mother to Brody our Lurcher, getting into weekly YouTube videos on my channel (here) and just about managing to stick to my blogging schedule, whilst working a full-time 9-5 job.

So, to say the least: 2015 has been pretty busy and I have been guilty of spending my evenings and weekends in front of a computer, or behind a camera lens. Sometimes forgetting to just stop, sit still for a minute and take in the beautiful surroundings right on my doorstep. Which is where this post and a spa day at Moddershall Oaks comes into play…

A Luxury Spa Break in The Countryside

Arriving for a spa day getaway, we were greeted by the friendly staff who showed us around the grounds and pointed out our lunch and treatment times, asking us to pre-select our lunch choices. Instantly I couldn’t wait to test the outside infinity pool, which was definitely the main point of action for all other visitors that day. Once we were changed into our swimwear and complimentary robes, we ordered some drinks from the bar, which were brought to us outside. This really is an indulgent day of bliss and relaxation. Sitting outside in the country air, feeling warm inside the pool was a strange yet satisfying feeling that James and I both thoroughly enjoyed. We pretty much stayed in here for a good hour or so before having a quick sauna to dry off and head for lunch.

Included in our spa day break was a two course lunch and we both opted for the pate to start followed by the chicken salad, with a naughty side order of double cooked chips. All of which, was delightful and we even got to sit down and enjoy our lunch in our robes!

Following our lunch, we went for a relax in the warm, cosy and firelit snug, before heading to our treatments at 2pm. We both went for the full body aromatherapy massage, which was duly needed and SO relaxing. Being my first massage experience, I will definitey be booking myself in for one again. Following this, we went to use the indoor spa facilities and relaxed in the inside infinity pool and the sauna before changing to head home.

It’s Ok To switch off from the world

My favourite part of the day was the fact we were partially shut off from the world and in our own little bubble. Sitting in the open air also made me feel so connected to the calm of the countryside and paired with being a Pisces, I felt at home in the water. Something can definitely be said for taking time out to switch off from the world and feed your soul by enjoying your own company. And it is something I plan to make more time for in 2016.

If you are looking to switch off from the world for a day (or few), you can find more information about Moddershall Oaks and their Spa Days and breaks here.

  1. This looks like absolute bliss! I’m pisces too and always feel my safe place is the water! Literally whenever I’m feeling anxious or need to chill I head straight for a bubble bath haha. You’ve definitely inspired me to book a new year spa break.
