With our wedding booked for June 2016, one of the next steps is to plan our dream honeymoon, wherever that may be! Last week I posted about finding a dream wedding venue and whether to look home or abroad, which you can read here. As we chose to get married abroad and are getting hitched in Cyprus, we will probably come home or fly to London first after our wedding and then move onto a luxury destination from there. Due to the time of year, we will probably have to choose wisely of where we go, as it may be rainy season!

Below are the top five honeymoon destinations currently on my Lust List. If anyone has been to any of these locations or has any recommendations for mid-June then I would love to know, as it may just help us to make our mind up or consider a location that we hadn’t even thought of yet!

Aruba

First up is the idyllic island of Aruba! With apparent constant 80-degree weather and some gorgeous sandy beaches, there are also a fair few activities to get up to. These include shopping, spas and salons, carnivals and an active night life with a number of clubs and bars to enjoy in the evenings.

The reason Aruba stood out to me is because I like the juxtaposition of calm sandy beaches for a relaxing day time and then the option for the evening in a lively location, satisfying both holiday needs for some R&R alongside some fun.

Bali

Next up is Bali, the beautiful Indonesian Island and another stunning beach location that offers a number of stunning hotels and views for a relaxing honeymoon. Apart from lying by a beautiful infinity swimming pool or staying in a beach hut, Bali offers gorgeous green forests and hidden temples, if you fancy a bit of an adventure or explore. It truly looks like a divine, breath-taking and unforgettable location, which is definitely near the top of my honeymoon lust list. Pictured above is the stunning 5 Star The Viceroy Hotel in Bali, which I would love to stay at If we are to choose this dream destination for our romantic getaway.

Bora Bora

I have to admit that spending my honeymoon relaxing in an unforgettable beach hut – a one in a lifetime experience – would be pretty cool, to say the least. Imagine waking up each morning to see the sea from your bed and having your own romantic love hut for 10-14 days – sheer bliss! The only thing I worry about it getting bored, but as Bora Bora offers exciting activities such as snorkelling, catamaran, island tours, helicopters, jet boats, scuba diving, 4×4 and submarine excursions amongst other ways to pleasantly pass the time.

A number of you have probably also seen the Kardashian’s episode and their opulent beach bungalows as well as the funny ‘Couples Retreat’ with Vince Vaughn and crew, which was filmed on the Island and definitely makes me want to go an visit after seeing the stunning views. Above the Four Seasons Bora Bora resort is pictured, which is the hotel I would most like to stay in at this location…fingers crossed!

Hawaii

On to a firm favourite of mine: Hawaii! Ever since seeing films such as Adam Sandler’s ’50 First Dates’, ‘Just Do It’ and the very funny ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ I have wanted to visited this amazing island an now U.S State. From its mix of stunning landscape, scenic beaches, volcanic landscape and the opportunity to take up surfing, snorkelling or swimming with some turtles.

To me, Hawaii looks like the epitome of a cool honeymoon, where you can relax, be active and enjoy a cocktail or two. Actually, the more I think about it and have the thought of American Pancakes for breakfast in my head, I am thinking that Hawaii may be currently top of the list!

Maldives

Last, but by no means least, is the Maldives, an island nation in the Indian Ocean. Offering perhaps the best quality beaches and the bluest sea, spending my honeymoon in this location wouldn’t be half bad right?! Another opportunity for a once in a lifetime trip, as I think for honeymoon you should treat yourself and go somewhere you likely won’t visit again.

With the choice of spas or more beach bungalow options, I love the look of staying at Cocoa Island, which you actually are transferred to from the airport via a speedboat – how swish is that! Or a stay at the new Constance Halaveli Resort, a luxury hideaway that, OMG, I would just Die, that is all I can say on this resort, which looks like pure heaven!

So, that is my round-up of my current top five lust list locations for our honeymoon next year, which have hopefully brightened up a dreary Monday by adding some locations to your travel bucket list. If anyone has any recommendations or a favourite location above then I would love to know.

As always, thanks for reading!
